Elevator and Conveying Solutions

http://www.rexnord.com Rexnord® is the world's most trusted name in providing innovative engineered elevators, conveyors and components for medium to heavy-duty applications. We design for tough applications that require 24 hour a day, year round continuous service that improves productivity and efficiency. Our design innovations will help yield larger capacities, fewer components and lower overall costs.

Rexnord has been one of the world's leading suppliers of conveying equipment and technology in material handling for more than 100 years. We represent the most comprehensive portfolio of conveying equipment components in the world. With brands like "Falk™," "Rex" and "Link-Belt®," Rexnord is the only supplier that manufacturers the critical power transmission components contained in our conveying equipment, and we back that up with critical spares delivered from international and US warehouses. We also employ a worldwide network of Rexnord field sales and factory support personnel that regularly visit and service our existing customer installations, providing application assistance and after-the-sale service.

With more than 6,500 pieces of equipment worldwide, with a presence in over 60 countries and in all 50 states of the US, Rexnord has a long running commitment in standing behind its products design and performance.

Conveying Equipment Products

High Performance Bucket Elevators
Rexnord® High-speed Centrifugal Discharge Elevators operate at high speeds and discharge material by centrifugal forces (250 fpm to 400 fpm). They handle free flowing materials up to 2" lumps, and use two types of centrifugal buckets: The AC style and the AA style buckets. (ACS buckets on retrofits.)
Rexnord Medium Speed Centrifugal Discharge Elevators (RP Elevators) operate at medium speeds and are a "combination discharge" elevator. The material not discharged by centrifugal force can leave the bucket by gravity and is deflected via the back of the preceding bucket (up to 240 fpm). The overlapping design and shape increase the fill factor and allow for both centrifugal and gravity discharge. They are able to handle 2 inch lumps mixed with free flowing fines.
Rexnord Low-Speed Gravity Discharge Elevators are a continuous type bucket elevator and operate at slow speeds with material being discharged by gravity. The buckets are more closely spaced (50 to 150 fpm). Generally, this type of elevator is used for handling materials having a large percentage of lumps, 2" to 5", fragile materials or materials which are very fluffy.

Belt Elevators
Research and development, field testing and installation experience dating back to the 1930's have allowed Rexnord to produce a belt bucket elevator that incorporates concepts and components that reflect performance technology. Rexnord® Belt Elevators are currently handling such products as cement, raw meal, alumina, coke, foundry sand, wood chips and other materials where physical characteristics are best suited to be belt type elevator. Rexnord elevators have been supplied with lifts in excess of 100 meters (328 feet).
Greater conveying capacities at speeds up to 115 meters per second (377 feet per minute) along with "AC" style elevator buckets.
Higher lifts are possible in comparison to the chain style elevator. Simplistic but secure bucket fastening method utilizes a large diameter flat head type fastener that allows the head of the fastener to be virtually flush with the surface of the belt. Belt material is commercially available steel cable carcass with a cross rigid weft construction which provides excellent tracking characteristics.
Rexnord's belt splice can be installed within 4-6 hours. Unique metal lagging on head pulley provides a positive traction surface for the belt. The hard metal lagging offers years longer wear life than the conventional rubber lagging and it also aids with continuous tracking of the belt.

Apron Pan Conveyors
Apron pan conveyors can handle horizontal an incline angles up to 50 degrees and material temperatures up to 2000 degrees F (1,1093 degrees C). Several pan designs are available including the AFT design which incorporates a patented overlap of steel pans. Spillage is minimized at step inclines or where pans articulate over the head or tail shafts.

AFT Pan Conveyor
The AFT pan incorporates an overlap of the pans, with the horizontal overlap shaped such that the lips contacting adjacent pans are under spring-action to ensure reliable and closest possible contact at all angles of articulation, in particular at steep inclinations. An AFT pan conveyor is normally used in conveying clinker from either the kiln to the storage silo or drawing clinker from the storage silo to the grinding mill.

Style A - Apron design:  Style “A” is a “multipurpose” overlapping pan that has endplates to contain the material. This style can also be equipped with pusher plates for inclines over 25 degrees.
Style B - Deep bucket design:  Style “B” is a deep drawn bucket that the material is contained in for travel.
Style C - Pan design:  Style “C” is a heavy, deep formed pan that is especially designed to transport high temperature materials.

Apron Feeders
An Apron feeder is ideal for controlled volumetric feeding or blending of bulk materials. Apron feeders solve flooding problems by regulating delivery of material, and they help control surge loads and prevent chute jamming and boot flooding in bucket elevators.
Feeders can be operated at fixed or variable feeding rates, and when installed at the bottom of a bin or hopper, apron feeders permit drawing on stored capacity as needed.
Whether you're handling run-of-mine quarry rock with lumps as large as 6-1/2 feet (2 meters) to a crusher or blending several materials extracted from a hopper, the Rexnord heavy duty design provides the strength and ruggedness to handle the job.

Drag and Flight Conveyors
Drag conveyors are well suited where multiple loading or discharge points are required, such as several silos in line, and also when a totally enclosed conveyor is needed for dust containment. They are capable of handling fine materials ranging from dust to 6 inch (150 mm) lumps. Flight Conveyors have one, or usually two strands of chain which move a "mass" of bulk material through a trough or enclosed casing (casings can be steel, concrete, or other materials). They are used where capacity requirements are fairly high, 200 - 400 TPH and when the material is somewhat fluid. The typical materials conveyed are TSP (fertilizer), raw meal, and finish cement.

My brother owns a construction company that uses conveyors all the time. Conveying equipment is an important thing to have and it is usually worth it to get the biggest capacity.
